A 20-year-old Arnold woman recently was arrested for allegedly stealing a woman’s purse, Arnold Police reported.
Arnold Police got a call at 2:55 a.m. Jan. 17 about the theft, after the suspect, who was among a group of people at a party in the 1800 block of Orchard Drive, allegedly stole the purse, Arnold Police Capt. Robert Ruckman said.
After the woman left the party, witnesses reported seeing her at the Waffle House restaurant in Arnold with the purse and some cash from it that she used to pay her bill, Ruckman said.
Later, she was found at the nearby Schnucks store in Arnold and was arrested, Ruckman said.
The purse and other items were recovered, he said.
The suspect already was wanted on outstanding warrants from Jefferson County for minor in possession and in St. Louis County for trespassing, Ruckman said.
The woman was booked and then released to the other authorities that wanted her, Ruckman said.
He said Arnold Police will seek stealing charges against her through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
