A 46-year-old Godfrey, Ill., man is suspected of stealing more than $31,332 from DDS Dentures and Implant Solutions, 1708 Missouri State Road, in Arnold, where he had worked as a manager. The money was stolen between June 10, 2016, and July 5, 2017, Arnold Police reported.

The company recently completed an audit and discovered the missing money. After an investigation, the company learned that the man allegedly had written checks to petty cash and then cashed them himself and kept the money. He also allegedly recorded that the money had been refunded to clients, Arnold Police Detective Lt. James Jones said.

Arnold Police interviewed the man in Illinois on Aug. 30, and he allegedly admitted to stealing the money. He reportedly said that over a six-year period, he cashed more than $45,000 in checks and kept the money, although at first he paid some of the money back, Jones said.

Jones said the case is still under investigation, but Arnold Police will seek felony stealing charges against him through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
