Authorities are trying to find a 29-year-old Cahokia, Ill., man, who allegedly abandoned his twin 1-year-old daughters on their grandfather’s doorstep at a home in the 2000 block of Judy Drive in Arnold. The incident happened at about 1:30 a.m. July 1, Lt. Clinton Wooldridge said.
He said the suspect took the children to their grandfather’s home and started knocking on the door. The grandfather saw the suspect on the doorstep, but instead of letting him in the home, he called the police, the report said.
The suspect left the children on the doorstep and left. The grandfather took the children into the home and cared for them, according to the report.
Arnold Police will seek charges against the man for abandoning a child and endangering the welfare of a child, the report said.
As of July 15, Arnold Police had not located the man, Lt. Clinton Wooldridge said. He asks anyone with information about the man’s whereabouts to call Arnold Police at 636-296-3204.
