Arnold Police are trying to find two Michigan women who allegedly stole merchandise worth $2,017.90 and $20 in cash from Walmart, 2201 Michigan Ave. The women have been identified as a 25-year-old from Flushing, Mich., and a 26-year-old from Burton, Mich., Arnold Police reported.
At about 2:30 p.m. March 2, the women had a cashier ring up clothing, sporting goods and electronics. One of the women gave the cashier a credit card but told the cashier to enter the purchase as a cash sale, the report said.
When the cashier was ringing up the items, the women distracted her, and the cashier did not notice the payment was not processed correctly, and the women left the store with the items that had not been paid for and $20 they received as cashback from the transaction, according to the report.
As of March 7, the merchandise and cash had not been recovered, and the women had not been located, Detective Lt. Jeremy Christopher said. He asks anyone with information about the incident to call Arnold Police at 636-296-3204.
