Arnold Police recently arrested two 38-year-old Peoria, Ill., men, one for suspicion of driving while intoxicated and assault, and the other for assault.
At 1:55 a.m. April 22, the two men allegedly were at the McDonald’s restaurant in the Arnold Crossroads complex on Hwy. 141 and Jeffco Boulevard and assaulted two other men there, Arnold Police Capt. Robert Ruckman said.
The victims, a 27-year-old Arnold man and a 42-year-old St. Louis County man, reportedly had asked the Illinois men to leave a female friend alone, and then the two Illinois men struck them, Ruckman said.
Neither victim was seriously hurt, Ruckman added.
A short time later, officers pulled over the Illinois men at the Drury Inn on Hwy. 141, and the driver appeared intoxicated, but he refused to take a breath test, the report said.
He was arrested, booked and issued a summons to appear in Municipal Court for DWI and assault and then released to a sober driver.
The other man was arrested, booked, issued a summons for assault and then released, according to the report.
