A 49-year-old woman, a 30-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman, all of Arnold, were arrested in connection with the theft of a boat and trailer from outside a home in the 1800 block of Old Lemay Ferry Road in Arnold. During the investigation, other alleged crimes were uncovered, and Arnold Police are seeking three other people in connection with the case, Lt. Tom Leassner said.
The theft occurred between noon June 24 and 7:25 a.m. June 25, when the boat and trailer were stolen from the carport and the home was burglarized, Leassner said.
The boat and trailer, together valued at $5,500, were recovered on July 4 in the 400 block of Constellation Drive, near where the man lives, after police learned that the stolen items had been listed for sale on Craigslist. Tools worth about $800 also were reportedly stolen from the home on Old Lemay Ferry, and those were recovered, too, Lt. Clinton Wooldridge said.
On July 5, the man and two women were arrested. However, Arnold Police have identified three other suspects in the case – a 27-year-old Arnold man, a 33-year-old Arnold man and a 26-year-old St. Louis woman – and as of July 13, they had not been taken into custody, Leassner said.
The 49-year-old woman, who lives near the home that was burglarized, and the 30-year-old man were booked and released pending application for warrants, and Arnold Police will seek felony stealing and burglary charges against the woman and felony possession of stolen property charges against the man through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office Leassner said.
The 27-year-old woman was not arrested for the burglary or stealing, but she was wanted on outstanding warrants from St. Francois County for possession of a controlled substance and from St. Charles for larceny, so she was booked and then held for the other law enforcement agencies, Leassner said.
