A 25-year-old St. Louis man was arrested for alleged possession of drugs following an accident in the 2900 block of Melton Drive in Arnold. The accident happened about 10 a.m. Nov. 21, Arnold Police reported.

Police got a call that a 2011 Ford Fusion ram off the road and struck a parked 2012 Mazda 3 and mailbox. When officers searched the car, they allegedly found a crystal-like substance that appeared to be methamphetamine, as well as pills believed to be Xanax and oxycontin, the report said.

The front ends of both cars were damaged in the accident, but the Police Department didn’t have an estimate for the damage, the report said.

Depending on lab results from the drug analysis, Arnold Police will seek charges against the man through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, Lt. Clinton Wooldridge said.
