A 38-year-old man and 36-year-old woman, both of Fenton, were arrested in Arnold after they were stopped while traveling in a stolen pickup. The woman allegedly had a gun and a substance suspected of being methamphetamine, Arnold Police reported.

An officer on Aug. 31 stopped a 2007 Toyota Tacoma because it had been reported stolen on Aug. 27 by the St. Francois County Sheriff’s Office. The man who was driving the pickup also was wanted on a warrant by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, the report said.

An officer allegedly found a gun in the woman’s purse and the suspected meth in the woman’s bra, according to the report.

The two were taken to the Police Station, where they were booked and released pending the application for warrants, the report said.

Depending on results of the drug analysis, Arnold Police will seek charges against the woman through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for possession of a controlled substance and second-degree tampering, Detective Lt. Jeremy Christopher said.

Arnold Police will seek charges against the man through the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for first-degree tampering and driving with a revoked license, Christopher said.
