A 27-year-old Imperial man recently was arrested for allegedly stealing a credit card and using it to rent a hotel room and make other purchases, Arnold Police report.

A customer at the White Castle restaurant on Richardson Road in Arnold lost a credit card there, and the Imperial man allegedly took it and used it to rent a room at the Comfort Inn on the West Outer Road in Arnold, said Capt. Robert Ruckman of the Arnold Police Department.

The man also allegedly used the stolen card to make two purchases at the Express Mart convenience store on Richardson Road in Arnold, the report said.

Arnold Police used information from the credit card company to track the man to the Comfort Inn and arrested him at about 10:30 a.m. May 23, when he allegedly gave officers false information about his identity, Ruckman said.

The man was booked and released pending application for warrants, Ruckman added.

Arnold Police will seek charges against the man for felony stealing, fraudulent use of a credit card and false declaration through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.

As of May 28, no charges had been filed, Ruckman said.
