A 23-year-old Imperial man recently was arrested in Arnold for allegedly trying to cash a stolen check. The man knew the Imperial woman the check had been stolen from, Arnold Police Detective Lt. James Jones said.
The man allegedly forged a signature on the check and tried to cash it at the Commerce Bank, 956 Jeffco Blvd., in Arnold. When the man tried to cash it, the woman the check belonged to was contacted, and she said the man didn’t have permission to cash it, so he was arrested, Arnold Police reported.
The man was booked and released pending application for warrants. Arnold Police will seek felony forgery charges against him through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, Jones said.
