A 20-year-old Arnold woman wanted on outstanding warrants was arrested for alleged possession of marijuana after she was found hiding in a shed outside a home in the 2100 block of Park Drive in Arnold. A 20-year-old Pevely man also wanted on warrants was found at the home and was arrested, too, Arnold Police reported.

The arrests occurred about 10 p.m. March 14, after Arnold Police went to the home looking for the woman. She was wanted in Jefferson County on warrants and a $4,000 bond for theft of a firearm, Lt. Tom Leassner said.

When police arrived, a different woman answered the door and reportedly told officers that the 20-year-old woman they were looking for wasn’t there. However, police spotted her while she was hiding in the shed and took her into custody, according to the report.

She was taken to the Arnold Police station and during booking, she allegedly was found with marijuana hidden in her clothing, Leassner said.

In addition, police discovered that the Pevely man, who was inside the home, was wanted in Pevely and St. Louis County on warrants for traffic violations. So, he also was taken into custody, the report said.

Both the woman and man were booked and held for the other law enforcement agencies that wanted them.

Depending on results from the drug analysis, Arnold Police will seek felony drug charges against the woman for having marijuana at the Arnold Jail, Leassner said.
