An Arnold man and woman, both 23, recently were arrested for allegedly stealing a weed eater from a home in the 2300 block of Starling Airport Road in Arnold and then pawning it, Arnold Police reported.

The Stihl weed eater, valued at about $100, was stolen at about 4:15 p.m. June 3, while the victim was working at the home, the report said.

Later, the victim found the stolen weed eater at an Arnold pawn shop, and suspects were identified, according to the report.

At about 10:30 a.m. June 9, Arnold Police found and arrested the suspects at another home in the 2300 block of Starling Airport Road. They were booked and questioned, and both allegedly confessed to stealing and pawning the weed eater, the report said.

The man was issued a summons to appear in Municipal Court for misdemeanor stealing and the woman got one for receiving stolen property, also a misdemeanor, according to the report.

In addition, the man was wanted in Jefferson County on an outstanding warrant for traffic violations, and the woman was wanted in St. Louis County on an outstanding warrant for petty larceny, Arnold Police Capt. Robert Ruckman said.

The man was held until he posted bond, and the woman was released because of a medical condition, the report said.
