A 26-year-old Arnold man recently was arrested for allegedly waving a gun around during an argument with two women. The man already was wanted on outstanding warrants from Pevely, Crystal City, Festus and Jefferson County, an Arnold Police Department report said.

At 6:12 p.m. July 31, Arnold Police got a call about a disturbance at a home in the 300 block of Bayshore Parkway in Arnold, and when officers arrived, the man had already fled the scene. Two women was still there, though, and told police that the man was arguing with them and during the argument, he waved around a handgun, “putting them in fear for their safety,” the report said.

No one was hurt during the dispute, Detective Lt. James Jones said.

He said the man, who lived at the home in the Bayshore subdivision, returned later, and Arnold Police arrested him. During the arrest, officers allegedly found him with the gun and seized it as evidence, according to the report.

The man also was wanted on a number of misdemeanor warrants, including one from Pevely, another one from Crystal City, two from Festus and four from Jefferson County, Jones said.

He was booked and held for one of the other agencies, Jones said. Arnold Police will seek charges against him for unlawful use of a weapon, fourth-degree assault and obstructing an officer, the report said.
