Mark Ferry, 36, of Arnold has been charged with two felonies after he allegedly stole an ambulance from outside St. Anthony’s Medical Center in south St. Louis County and then broke into a home, authorities report.

Surveillance footage from the hospital allegedly shows Ferry at about 12:15 p.m. Sept. 11 stealing an ambulance that had been left outside the hospital, the St. Louis County Police Department reports.

Then, Ferry allegedly drove the ambulance to a home in the 5300 block of Ferbet and broke a rear glass door to the home to get inside, the report said.

While police were investigating that theft, they got a call that a woman had found an ambulance parked in her driveway, and officers responded and found the glass door to her home shattered, according to the report.

Officers reportedly found Ferry inside the home, with the keys to the ambulance in his pocket.

In addition, officers allegedly found bags of clothes and medications that belonged to Ferry inside the ambulance, the report said.

The St. Louis county Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged Ferry Sept. 12 with one count of stealing a motor vehicle and one count of second-degree burglary, both class C felonies.

If convicted, Ferry faces up to seven years in prison for each charge.

Ferry was being held in jail today on a $20,000 cash-only bond, St. Louis County Police report.
