A 23-year-old Arnold man was arrested after he was found asleep in a pickup that was stolen from outside an Arnold home. Police officers also found items stolen from other vehicles that were parked outside of homes on at least five other city streets, the Arnold Police reported.

Officers at about 9:30 a.m. March 8 arrested the man and finding him asleep in the driver’s seat of a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado in the 2300 block of Boeing Drive.

A 36-year-old Arnold man had reported the pickup was stolen at about 4 a.m. that morning from outside his home in the 700 block of Vera Drive, the report said. The pickup appeared to have been left unlocked with the keys inside it, according to the report.

Officers also found numerous items in the pickup that were stolen from vehicles that morning on Louisa Drive, Lincoln Drive, Franklin Court, Lee Drive and Leolia Drive, the report said.

Detective Lt. Jeremy Christopher said on March 12 that due to the number of victims, he was unable provide specific details about what was stolen and what vehicles the items were stolen from.

The man was taken to the Police Station, where he was booked and released pending the application for a warrant, the report said.

Arnold Police will seek a charge against the man through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for tampering with a motor vehicle, stealing, vehicle prowling and possession of stolen property, Christopher said.

He also asked anyone who believes items were stolen from the vehicle or if they believe someone attempted to enter their vehicle on the morning of March 8 to call Arnold Police at 636-296-3204.
