Arnold Police are seeking a felony charge against a 37-year-old Arnold man for allegedly stealing a car battery worth $122.26 from the Walmart store, 2201 Michigan Ave. The man had been convicted for stealing at least four times in the past 10 years and had been banned from the store, police reported.
A Walmart employee called Arnold Police at about 8 p.m. Aug. 12 to the store and said the suspect allegedly had placed the battery in a shopping cart and left without paying, the report said.
The employee recovered the battery, and the suspect had fled from the store in a black Toyota Camry before an officer arrived. However, an officer identified the man from store surveillance video, according to the report.
As of Aug. 17, the man had not been arrested, Detective Lt. Jeremy Christopher said.
