A 52-year-old Arnold man recently was arrested for allegedly filing a false police report, claiming that his girlfriend assaulted him. Instead, the man allegedly hit himself in the face and blamed it on his girlfriend, Arnold Police Detective Lt. James Jones says.
At 9:28 p.m. June 8, Arnold Police got a call about a disturbance at a home in the 2100 block of East Highview. The man, who had filed the false police report, was there, so officers tried to arrest him, and he resisted, the report said.
“He became belligerent and broke the front door, Jones said.
In addition to filing a false report, the man was arrested for disturbing the peace and resisting arrest. He was booked, issued summonses to appear in Municipal Court and then released, the report said.
