A 46-year-old Arnold man recently was arrested for allegedly pointing a shotgun at another man, who was holding a 2-year-old girl at the time. No one was hurt in the incident, Arnold Police reported.

The incident occurred at about 10:10 p.m. Sept. 29, while the victim and his girlfriend were leaving a neighbor’s mobile home on Wagon Wheel Court, where the suspect lived. The suspect is the victim’s brother-in-law, a report said.

The suspect, the victim and the victim’s girlfriend had been at the home playing games and drinking, and they began to argue. The victim and his girlfriend had their young daughter with them, Detective Lt. James Jones said.

When the victim, holding his daughter, and the girlfriend were leaving, the suspect allegedly got a shotgun and pointed it at the victim in a threatening manner. The shotgun was loaded, Jones said.

Arnold Police were called to the scene and took the suspect into custody. The suspect already was wanted in Scott County on an outstanding warrant. So, he was booked and held at the Arnold Jail for 12 hours and then turned over to Scott County authorities, Jones said.

Arnold Police will seek charges against the man through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for fourth-degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon and endangering the welfare of a child, Jones said.
