A 47-year-old Arnold man recently was arrested for suspicion of assaulting his girlfriend, pulling her hair and choking her. The incident happened just before 5 p.m. April 14 at a home in the 1900 block of Maple Drive, Arnold Police report.

The victim told Arnold Police that her live-in boyfriend pulled her to the ground by her hair and used both his hands to choke her, Detective Lt. James Jones. 

The woman was able to get away from the man, ran to another room and called police. When officers arrived, the man was in a car trying to leave the scene, but he was apprehended, Jones said.

Officers allegedly found him with a small amount of marijuana and a smoking pipe. In addition, the man already was wanted in Arnold on an outstanding warrant for domestic violence and possession of drug paraphernalia, Jones said.

The man was booked, held for 12 hours, and after he paid a $150 bond on the previous charges, he was issued summonses to appear in Municipal Court for another domestic violence charge, another paraphernalia charge and a drug possession charge, Jones said.
