A 51-year-old Arnold man was arrested for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend, leaving her with black and swollen eyes. The incident happened about 1:30 a.m. Jan. 22 at a home in the 2100 block of Lake Drive, Arnold Police reported.
The victim, a 51-year-old Arnold woman, went to the Police Station at about 9:17 a.m. that day to report the alleged assault. She told authorities the man hit her after the two got into a “drunken argument.” The woman’s eyes were black, blue and red and nearly swollen shut, the report said.
The man was arrested and interviewed, and he denied striking the woman. He was booked and released pending application for warrants, according to the report.
Arnold Police will seek charges against the man through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for second-degree assault, Lt. Clinton Wooldridge said.
