Arnold Police recently were called to the Dierbergs store in Arnold for a reported shoplifting incident and ended up arresting a 43-year-old Arnold man for alleged possession of heroin.

Just after 4 p.m. Nov. 2, Arnold Police got a call that the man had allegedly stolen $8.63 in merchandise, including soda and food, said Capt. Robert Ruckman of the Arnold Police Department.

When officers arrived, they allegedly found the man with heroin, Arnold Police reported.

The man already was wanted in Jefferson County on an outstanding warrant and a $730 bond, Ruckman said.

He said the man was booked and held for Jefferson County.

Arnold Police will seek felony drug charges, as well as misdemeanor stealing charges, against the man through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, Ruckman said.
