A 25-year-old Arnold man was arrested after he was pulled over on Jeffco Boulevard while driving an SUV that was reported stolen out of Belleville, Ill. The incident happened at about 4 p.m. March 7, Arnold Police reported.
An officer pulled over a 2003 Ford Escape on Jeffco Boulevard at Tenbrook Road after a check on the license showed it was unregistered. The man allegedly told police he had purchased the Escape from Facebook Marketplace, but he could not produce a bill of sale, the report said.
The officer also discovered the man already was wanted in St. Louis on an outstanding warrant. In addition, the officer also allegedly found marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the man’s coat pocket, according to the report.
The man was taken to the Police Station, where he was booked and released pending application for warrants. Arnold Police will seek charges against the man through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for tampering and possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia, Lt. Clinton Wooldridge said.
