man in handcuffs

Arnold Police used a stun gun to subdue a 38-year-old Arnold man who was arrested for allegedly leaving the scene of an accident and fighting with police, the report said.

At about 6 p.m. May 23, the man was driving a 2010 Subaru Legacy near the intersection of Hwy. 141 and Jeffco Boulevard and the car collided with a 2010 Nissan Murano driven by a 48-year-old Arnold woman. After the accident, the two drivers pulled into the parking lot of the Chick-fil-A restaurant, 1 Arnold Mall, and got into an argument, and the man allegedly threatened the woman, according to the report.

Police were called to the restaurant, but by the time officers arrived, the man had left. However, a short time later, police tracked the man to his home in the 600 block of Pear Tree Lane. When officers approached the man at his home, he allegedly threatened the officers and tried to punch and kick them, so officers used a stun gun to subdue him, the report said.

While officers were securing the man’s home, they allegedly spotted a bag of marijuana just inside the front door, according to the report.

The Arnold man appeared “highly intoxicated” and was transported by Rock Township Ambulance to St. Anthony’s Medical Center in south St. Louis County. Arnold Police issued the man summonses to appear in Municipal Court for leaving the scene of an accident, disturbing the peace, resisting arrest and possessing marijuana, the report said.
