man in handcuffs

A 29-year-old Arnold man was arrested after he allegedly fired a gun three times in the air while arguing with his girlfriend outside the Dollar Tree store, 3890 Jeffco Blvd. No one was injured, and the bullets did not strike anything, Arnold Police reported.

Officers were called to the Phillips 66 gas station, 3910 Jeffco Blvd., after an employee saw the man arguing with a 27-year-old Arnold woman in the parking lot. The employee told police she heard at least three gunshots after the two walked to the nearby Dollar Tree Store parking lot, the report said.

Officers found the woman and man outside the Dollar Tree, and the woman told police she had argued with her boyfriend at the gas station and was walking away from him and heading to a nearby home when he allegedly fired a gun three times in the air, Arnold Police reported.

The man was found in the parking lot outside the Wesley Roger’s Steak and Buffet, 3601 Jeffco Blvd. Officers allegedly found him with a 38-caliber revolver that had three spent shell casings inside, the report said.

The man was arrested and taken to the Police Station, but he was transported to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County after making suicidal statements, according to the report.

Cpl. Brett Ackermann said Arnold Police will seek a charge against the man through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for unlawful use of a weapon.
