A 37-year-old Arnold man has been arrested for alleged possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. The man was arrested at about 2 p.m. Sept. 20 during a traffic stop, Arnold Police said.

Officers stopped a 2000 Nissan Maxima in the 900 block of Arnold Commons Drive because the license plates on the car were registered to a 2010 Chevrolet Malibu. After stopping the Maxima, a police dog alerted officers to the possibility of drugs in the car, the report said.

Officers allegedly found a red container on the driver-side floorboard that contained bags filled with a white crystal-like substance believed to be meth, as well as metal smoking pipes, according to the report.

The man was arrested and taken to the Police Station, where he was booked and released pending application for warrants. Depending on results of the drug analysis, Arnold Police will seek charges against the man through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, Capt. Rich Shular said.
