An Arnold-area man is accused of shooting at three people while driving away from a verbal disturbance.

Nicholas Braden Fenstermaker, 21, is charged with three counts of first-degree assault and three counts of armed criminal action. As of Aug. 11, he was being held without bond in the Jefferson County Jail in Hillsboro.

According to the probable-cause statement, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of a shooting on Aug. 9 on Scenic Drive outside Arnold. Witnesses said Fenstermaker left after a verbal altercation with three people on Scenic Drive but returned a short time later. After being told law enforcement had been called, he allegedly backed his 2014 Cadillac CTS up onto Londell Road and fired three rounds from his vehicle in the direction of three people while screaming “this ain’t over yet, b----,” the report said.

No injuries were reported.

During the investigation, deputies found spent 9 mm casings at the scene and two handguns and ammunition in Fenstermaker’s vehicle. Surveillance video also showed Fenstermaker backing up his vehicle, placing his arm out the window and firing three shots in the direction of three people, the report said.
