About $32,800 in equipment recently was stolen from a work trailer at a construction site on Big Hollow Road about one quarter mile from Rouggly Kiepe Road south of Festus near the Ste. Genevieve border. The theft happened between about 2:30 p.m. Nov. 6 and 6 a.m. Nov. 7, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reported.

Stolen items included three impact drivers; a gas-powered generator; two cordless drills; one laser level; surveying equipment; a vacuum; a cordless saw; a circular saw; and chargers and batteries for cordless tools.

The person who reported the theft said there were two padlocks on the work trailer when he left the site the afternoon of Nov. 6 and the padlocks were gone when he returned to the site the morning of Nov. 7.

As of Nov. 17, no items had been recovered and no arrests had been made, Cpl. Matthew Moore said. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 636-797-5515.
