The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of about $7,000 worth of wire from Ameren. The theft happened in the 1800 block of Little Brennan Road in High Ridge, the Sheriff’s Office reported.
An Ameren employee discovered multiple spools to be “stripped of wire.” He also found fencing had been cut on the north end of the property, presumably where entry was gained, the report said.
The theft happened sometime between Dec. 9 and Dec. 12. As of late December, the stolen wire had not been recovered, the Sheriff’s Office reported.
