The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a recent burglary at a home in the 8000 block of Dittmer-Catawissa Road in Dittmer.

Between 7:45 a.m. and 1 p.m. Dec. 4, someone allegedly used a patio block to break a window in the side of the home to get inside and then stole about $5,000 in jewelry, coins and other items, the Sheriff’s Office reported.

Stolen items include a 1980 Southwest High School class ring; a gold ring with red garnets; other pieces of jewelry and a jewelry box; U.S. Navy service ribbons, awards and pins; four Susan B. Anthony coins; Eisenhower dollar coins; a 1942 silver half dollar; and a birth certificate and shot records for the victims’ son, the report said.

None of the stolen items had been recovered, and there were no suspects or arrests as of Dec. 11, said Capt. Ron Arnhart of the Sheriff’s Office.

He asks anyone with information about the burglary to call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 636-797-5515.
