Festus Police are investigating the theft of equipment from a construction site where a home is being built at West Main Street and Pounds Road. The theft happened overnight Dec. 12-13, Chief Tim Lewis reported.
“We had a felony stealing from R&K (Excavation Inc. of Bloomsdale) at a development,” Lewis said. “It happened between 5 p.m. Dec. 12 and 7 a.m. Dec. 13. A box container was broken into and they cut locks on a couple of trucks.”
An R&K spokesperson said the stolen items were worth about $4,500.
As of Dec. 17, none of the stolen items had been recovered, and there were no suspects, Lewis said. He asks anyone with information is urged to call the Festus Police at 636-937-3646.
