The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglary at a home in the 1500 block of Donnybrook Lane in Imperial, where cash and other items valued at about $4,000 were stolen. The burglary happened between 8 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. Oct. 6, the Sheriff’s Office reported.
There were no signs of forced entry, and it looked like the culprit got into the house through a sliding glass door while the victim was away from the home. The victim said she returned home and found the sliding glass door slightly ajar, the report said.
Stolen items included a lock box that had $2,800 in cash, passports and birth certificates inside, as well as a red duffle bag, a plastic baggie filled with miscellaneous jewelry and an iPad with a pink case. As of Nov. 1, the stolen items had not been recovered, Sgt. Matthew Moore said.
There were no suspects or arrests either, Moore said. Anyone with information about the burglary is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 636-797-5515.
