Aaron Joseph Thele, 50, has been accused of dragging a woman by her hair in an apartment complex south of Arnold. He allegedly dragged the woman out of the apartment while she was naked, according to court documents.
The Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office on March 20 charged Thele with first-degree harassment, a class E felony, and third-degree kidnapping, a class A misdemeanor, court records show.
Thele was arrested Wednesday, April 23, and as of today, April 24, he was being held on a $5,000 cash-only bond at the Jefferson County Jail in Hillsboro, according to court documents.
Deputies were called on March 13 to the apartment complex after Thele allegedly dragged the woman outside and threw her to the ground. He then allegedly dragged the woman back into the apartment, pushed her into a room and wouldn’t let her out or answer the door to law enforcement officers, the case’s probable-cause statement said.
A class E felony is punishable by up to four years in prison, and a class A misdemeanor carries a penalty of up to one year in jail and a fine of up to $2,000.
Jefferson County assistant prosecuting attorney Michele Whitehead is prosecuting the case.
