Festus Police patch

A 4-year-old boy recently found wandering alone on the Twin City Walmart parking lot has been placed in the custody of the state’s Children’s Division, Festus Police Chief Tim Lewis reported.

“This is not the first time he’s been found wandering from home,” Lewis said.

Festus Police got a call at approximately 3 p.m. Oct. 24 about the boy in the parking lot, 650 S. Truman Blvd.

“He was found by a woman on the parking lot,” Lewis said.

He said the boy lives several blocks away.

“He walked all the way to Walmart,” Lewis said.

He said the child was not harmed.

Festus Police did not arrest the boy’s guardians and is not seeking charges against them because Children’s Division is investigating the case, Lewis said.
