Stuck Car in snow

PHILLIPS COUNTY – The Phillips County Sheriff's Office has issued an urgent advisory as severe weather conditions have left numerous vehicles stranded across the region.

The Sheriff's Office reports receiving multiple 911 calls from drivers stranded on US HWY 2 and US HWY 191S. Emergency personnel are facing difficulties reaching them due to the blizzard.

Residents are reminded to stay in their vehicles if stranded, leave a window slightly open for fresh air, and keep hazard flashers on. The precipitation is expected to cease around 1:00 a.m. tomorrow morning.

Residents are urged to avoid travel unless absolutely necessary. Those who must travel should plan carefully and pack a survival kit as a precaution.
