A bunny born without ears has been given crocheted ears to help him blend in with his family.

The four-month-old rabbit, named Van Gogh, was born at Smithills Open Farm, a dairy farm in Bolton, England.

Van Gogh was the only one from his litter born without ears.

Although his lack of ears doesn’t affect his hearing, the farmers at Smithills wanted to make him replacements anyway so he could experience what it’s like to have ears.

One of the farmers, who runs a crocheted hair scrunchie business on the side, created the tiny custom ears for Van Gogh.

Caitlyn, a spokesperson for Smithills Open Farm, said: "We crocheted him some ears for fun, so that he could experience what it was like having ears too.

"He was born earless but we don't really know why.

"Luckily, it hasn't affected his hearing, so it's a purely aesthetic issue.

"So, knowing one of our farmers crochets on the side, we thought it was the perfect opportunity to make Van Gogh feel more included with his siblings.

"He only wears them for a short time for fun, when farmers are there to supervise."
