Police arrive at the home of Aiden Ha, whose body was discovered in the river after an intensive search.

Bloomsburg, Pa. — The body of 7-year-old Aiden Ha has been found, police say.

Scott Township police say Ha's body was found in the Susquehanna River just a half mile south of the family's home around12:30 p.m., said Columbia County Coroner Jeremy Reese. The boy was spotted by the State Police Aviation Unit and located by underwater search teams.

He died of accidental drowning, Reese said.

According to a statement by the Scott Township Police Department:

"Unfortunately we did not have the turn out we had all hoped for. Aiden’s body has been recovered in the river and his family has been notified. We are deeply saddened with this outcome and all of our thoughts are with his family at this time.
 
Thank you all for all the help and we are thankful for everyone that came out to help in each and every way."
 
Ha went missing Saturday morning just after 9 a.m. from his home in the 2800 block of Old Berwick Road in Bloomsburg. Search crews began scouring the neighborhood and river for the boy, who was said to be autistic and non-verbal.
