A motorcycle rider was seriously injured in a collision with a car Wednesday afternoon (July 25) north of Hillsboro, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
The patrol reported that about 2:50 p.m. David W. Clark, 54, of Fenton was riding a 1981 Harley-Davidson northbound on Old Hwy. 21 north of Valley View Drive when it collided with a 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt driven southbound by Orville W. Brakefield, 56, of Hillsboro. The Cobalt was turning left in front of the motorcycle when the motorcycle struck the right side of the Cobalt. Clark was ejected from his motorcycle, the report says.
Clark was taken by helicopter to Mercy Hospital St. Louis in Creve Coeur. A hospital spokeswoman today (July 27) said Clark remained in the hospital in critical condition.
Clark was wearing a helmet and the motorcycle was totaled. Brakefield was wearing a seat belt and not listed as injured and the Cobalt sustained moderate damages, the patrol reported.
