The Missouri Department of Transportation will close a section of Hwy. 21 between Hayden Road and Goldman Road in the Hillsboro area next week, weather permitting, for road repairs.
All northbound lanes in that area will be closed from 9 a.m. Monday, April 20, through 5 a.m. Friday, April 24. In addition, one southbound lane will be closed from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.
Traffic will be detoured to Old Hwy. 21.
The lanes will be closed so crews can repair underground culverts and pavement, MoDOT reported.
“The culverts under the highway to carry stormwater have collapsed,” MoDOT area engineer Judy Wagner said.
She said the road will be torn up to replace the culverts, the road will be replaced and then the concrete will need time to cure.
MoDOT awarded R.V. Wagner in St. Louis County a $143,000 contract to complete the work, Wagner said.
