If you need to buy some clothes and other items for the kids before they start school again next month, you can save some money this weekend.
The 2025 Missouri Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday begins at 12:01 a.m. Friday, Aug. 1, and runs through Sunday, Aug. 3.
During the sales tax holiday, the state of Missouri and its counties, municipalities and special taxing districts will not collect sales tax on school-related purchases.
This is the second year local taxing entities are not allowed to opt out of the sales tax holiday, according to the Missouri Department of Revenue.
Sales and use taxes will not be charged on any article of clothing that costs $100 or less; school supplies up to $50 per purchase; computer software that costs $350 or less; personal computers that cost up to $1,500; computer software that costs up to $350; and graphing calculators that cost up to $150.
