By the end of the day today (Feb. 3), the Magic Carpet Lounge and Magre Liquors building, 627 S. Truman Blvd., in Festus is expected to be demolished, workers on site said.
The nightspot and package liquor businesses, which the Magre family operated for decades, closed in December.
The Magres sold the property to Coal Creek Capital LLC, a St. Louis company owned by Tim Kaufmann and Preston Amos, who plan to build a 3,500- square-foot building to lease to Aspen Dental, a national dental operation.
