Several local police departments are participating in the National Prescription Drug Take- Back Initiative collection to be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 28.
At that time, the Arnold, Crystal City, Eureka, Festus, Hillsboro and Pevely police departments will accept any unwanted, unused or expired medications so they may be disposed of in a safe and environmentally friendly manner.
No syringes, needles or intravenous solutions will be accepted. No inhalers or other compressed-air cylinders will be accepted either.
If you can’t make it to the April 28 Prescription Drug Take-Back Day, contact your local police department to see if it has a drop-off box for medications or some other process for accepting medications to be disposed of.
