The annual Kimmswick Apple Butter Festival will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday (Oct. 25-26) in Kimmswick. More than 600 vendors will sell food, crafts and other merchandise, much of it apple related.

As usual, the Kimmswick Historical Society will make and sell its famous apple butter. Beer, wine and other drinks will sold, too.

Other festivities include raffles, wood carving demonstrations and children’s activities, such as train rides, pony rides, face painting and a petting zoo. Top spinning artist, Hi Ta Dah, will perform, as will magicians and balloon artists, the Allen Brothers.

On Saturday, live bluegrass music will be performed, and on Sunday, classic rock ’n’ roll. A DJ will provide music, too.

The Missouri National Guard 220th Family Readiness Group will sell T-shirts and key chains and will collect donations of new, unwrapped toys to benefit military families. Rock Community Fire Protection District’s dog, Madison, will appear; firefighters will hand out goodies.

Shops and restaurants will be open during the festival.

Weather permitting, free parking will be provided along Hwy. K, which is off Hwy. 61-67 and leads to Kimmswick. In addition, there will be parking at the Windsor schools campus on Hwy. 61-67 in Imperial with shuttle rides to and from the festival, for a small fee. Parking will cost $5 at the Anheuser estate. Handicapped and additional parking will be at Windsor Elementary School in Kimmswick. Some property owners along Montebello and Windsor Harbor roads also offer parking for a fee.

The event is a fundraiser for the city of Kimmswick, which keeps the proceeds from the vendor rental fees. The Kimmswick Historical Society keeps proceeds from the apple butter sales.
