For Stephanie Simmons of Imperial, it only took one try at the Missouri Lottery’s “10X Crossword” Scratchers game to uncover a $50,000 top prize.
After the prize on the first ticket she purchased was revealed, Simmons said she looked it over several more times to make sure she wasn’t mistaken.
“At first, I thought it was a joke,” she said. “I thought, ‘There’s no way this is real!’”
However, Simmons said she will use the very real $50,000 top prize to buy a vehicle and have some home repairs completed.
Simmons’ winning ticket was purchased at On the Run, 1727 Catlin Drive, in Barnhart.
