The Greater Hillsboro Chamber of Commerce will sponsor its annual Christmas parade on Saturday, Dec. 11.
The procession will form at 4 p.m. behind Hillsboro Intermediate School and will go south on Hawk Drive to Stadium Drive, then left onto Business 21 and then left on Main Street before dispersing at Vreeland Road.
Entry to the parade is free. Floats, marching or walking units, motor units, religious units vintage units and best-dressed animal entries are sought by Dec. 6.
Prizes will be awarded to entries.
“Community Christmas at the Farm” will be held after the parade at the Hillsboro R-3 School District’s Bridle Ridge Acres.
That event will include pictures with Santa taken by the high school yearbook staff, hot cocoa and cookies, s’mores kits, a tractor lighting, bonfire and Christmas music and tours of the farm.
The photos are free but donations will be accepted to buy food for the farm animals, which will; be dressed up for Christmas.
Parking will be at Hillsboro Primary or Intermediate schools with shuttles running. There will be no public parking at the farm.
