A Hillsboro-area family who posted on Facebook a professional photo shoot that pictured family members with mannequin-style faces got a redo and a story on the TV newsmagazine show “Inside Edition.”
If you want a look at the story, you’ll have to hurry. It airs today (Feb.5) at 4:30 p.m. on KMOV (Channel 4).
The blended Zaring family includes husband David Zaring, 45, and wife Pam Zaring, 33; their kids – Connor Coones, 8, and Cade Zaring, 13; and Pam Zaring’s mother, Belinda Stacks, 55.
The family hired the photographer months ago and then waited a long time to see the photographs, Pam Zaring said. When they did get a look, they laughed at the touch-up work, which made the family look like they were wearing masks.
After posting the pictures on Facebook, more than 400,000 people viewed them, drawing the attention of “Inside Edition.”
Belinda Stacks lives in Ohio, but participated in the original shoot, as well as the “Inside Edition” interview on Saturday (Feb. 3) at the Russell House Restaurant and Inn, 10333 Business 21, in Hillsboro.
Pam Zaring said the family’s experience with “Inside Edition” made up for their encounter with the original photographer. The newsmagazine had the family’s portraits reshot.
“We started scheduling (with the TV newsmagazine) for a few weeks,” she said. “They paid for hair and makeup. They paid for my mom to fly back here. They paid for the reshoots. They’re so good. The kids had a blast.
“Everything was at the Russell House. They were so great.”
Mandy Alley, administrator for the Greater Hillsboro Chamber of Commerce, helped coordinate the photo shoot and "Inside Edition" interview at the Russell House.
Zaring said her family plans to watch today’s “Inside Edition” together.
“A bad experience turned into a good experience,” she said.
