The Bottle Rockets

Forecasts of extremely wet weather on Friday have convinced Twin City Days organizers to move the Cobblestone Celebration, including the Bottle Rockets concert, from outdoors along Mississippi Avenue in Crystal City to inside the Quality Inn, 1200 W. Gannon Drive, in Festus.

Since space is limited at the Quality Inn, which has a capacity of about 750, admission to the Bottle Rockets concert will be “first-come, first-served,” said Crystal City Administrator Jason Eisenbeis.

The Bottle Rockets, a rock band with local ties and national recognition, is slated for 8-11 p.m., with doors opening at 7 p.m. The concert is open to those 21 and older, and a full cash bar will be offered. An after-party will be held at Crystal Tavern, 118 Mississippi Ave., in Crystal City. No outside coolers, chairs or smoking will be allowed at those events.

Friday’s Art Walk, which also was to be held outdoors in Crystal City, has been relocated, too, and is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. inside the Quality Inn.
