fox water main break 10-17-23

The Fox C-6 School District canceled classes for schools on the Fox school campus in Arnold because of a water main break this morning.

Students who attend school on the Fox schools campus in Arnold have an unexpected day off today, Oct. 17.

The Fox C-6 School District canceled classes at the campus at 751 Jeffco Blvd. because of a water main break. The campus is home to the Fox high, middle and elementary schools and the Bridges Alternative School.

The district also canceled Character Kids Club activities at Fox Elementary.

The water main break was discovered at about 5:20 a.m. today. The break happened between Fox Elementary and the Central Office, and it appears to have been caused by ground shifting, Superintendent Paul Fregeau said.

He said along with the school buildings, the district’s Central Office and Rickman Auditorium, which are located on the campus, were without water this morning.

Fregeau said water was restored to all campus buildings at about 10:05 a.m. today. He also said the district expects classes to be held on the campus tomorrow.

“Classes were cancelled because it was not known how quickly the water would be restored, as well as how extensive the hole would have to be to complete the repairs,” he said.

Fregeau said Public Water Supply District No. 1 crews repaired the damage, and the district will not have to pay for the repairs.

No other Fox district schools were affected by the water main break and are open today. The Central Office also is open.
