The Fox C-6 School District will hold a special meeting Monday (Feb. 8) to continue discussions about the district’s search for a new superintendent to replace Nisha Patel, who is leaving at the end of the school year to take a job as the superintendent for the School District of Clayton.

The special meeting will be held at 4 p.m. at the Fox C-6 Service Center service Center, 849 Jeffco Blvd., in Arnold. The meeting is open to the public, but no public comments are scheduled, according to the meeting agenda released Thursday (Feb. 4).

On Tuesday (Feb. 2), the board voted unanimously to pay the EGL (Education, Governance, Leadership) Association $12,775 to oversee the search.

This is the third superintendent search for the Fox district in seven years.

Patel took over as Fox’s superintendent when Jim Wipke left the district after the 2018-2019 school year to become the superintendent at the Ladue School District. Wipke was hired in 2015 to replace Dianne Critchlow, who retired in October 2014 in a swirl of controversy. Wipke was paid $192,937 in his final year with Fox.

Patel announced on Jan. 20 that her last day with Fox will be June 30, after heading up the Fox district since start of the 2019-2020 school year.

Patel’s first day with Clayton will be July 1. She is being paid $185,200 this school year at Fox and will be paid $215,000 in her first year at Clayton.
