A special meeting of the Festus City Council that had been scheduled for tonight, April 8, has been canceled.
The meeting, with only a closed session listed on its agenda, had been scheduled to take place at City Hall.
According to a posting on the city of Festus Facebook page, Mayor Sam Richards announced the cancellation due to “the absence of a quorum.”
The purpose of the meeting, as well as one held April 6, was to continue discussions on the city’s search for a new city administrator to replace Greg Camp, who left the position Feb. 20 for a similar job in Silverthorne, Colo., said Michael Christopher, the Festus public works director who is serving interim city administrator.
