The Mountain Bike Shed, which celebrated its third year in business April 7, has relocated to 54 The Legends Parkway, Suite 153, in Eureka.

Co-owners Adam Scott and Erica Trtan, both of Eureka, said the move gave them more space and a location closer to the Eureka Mountain Bike Park.

“We knew either at three years we were going to need to grow, or we were going to need to close, and fortunately people have dug riding bikes, so, yeah, we expanded instead of closing,” Scott said.

Because of health concerns related to COVID-19, the Mountain Bile Shed’s previous location at 107 Hilltop Village Center Drive in Eureka only allowed a couple of people inside the store at one time, Scott said.

“It’s a lot brighter and more open in here, but the big reason we’re moving over here is obviously with the bike park,” he said.

Scott said the store’s new location is also closer to greenway paths, the Meramec River and the pool at the Timbers recreation center.

Trtan said the new location used to house Eureka Pain Clinic and was renovated before opening the bike shop.

She said the old bike shop location had 1,400 square feet and the new one has 2,675 square feet, which gives them extra space to bring in new product lines, including Ruffwear outdoor dog gear and disc golf gear.

She has plans to expand the inventory more this summer, adding board shorts, vitamins and supplements.

Trtan said the new location has a designated work station for Onewheels – skateboards with one large wheel in the middle.

She said the space also includes a service department in the back and public bathrooms. She said one of the rooms in the back soon will be turned into a bike wash.

Also, the Mountain Bike Shed has a new security employee, Frank, a 6-month old English bulldog, who joins Linda, a 2-year old American bulldog, in the security department.

Trtan said the store is dog friendly, and the two bulldogs are there every day.

Scott said now that the business is next to Camila’s Tex Mex, which has Taco Tuesdays, the two businesses will team up and encourage people to enjoy some tacos and margaritas at the restaurant and ride bikes.

The Mountain Bike Shed also expanded its hours and is now open 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday.
